Alex Oancea
Meet eApps
Alex is from Ramnicu Sarat, a small Romania town founded in 1439, located about 160 km from Bucharest. He attended a mathematics and computer science high school named ‘Alexandru Vlahuta’ where he had his first contact with computer programming and networks. He went on to law school, but did web site development as a freelancer and became more and more interested in computer technology.
His first job was as a technical support representative and system administrator for a Romanian web hosting start-up. He was in charge of pretty much everything – configuring the network and virtual server infrastructure, developing the company web site, and handling technical support for a wide range of technologies. He learned to listen to customers and migrated the company’s virtualization technology to Xen and KVM from Open VZ based on customer feedback.
Alex recently moved to Bucharest, where most of his friends are. He has a girlfriend who is completing her IT degree and works as a system administrator for a large telecom company. He also considers his German Shepherd, Max, to be a member of his family, and an amazing friend also.
When Alex is off shift, he likes to play with his dog, read Linux Administration related news, explore new places in Bucharest, and as time permits visit the medieval towns and castles in Transylvania.
At eApps, Alex has found a team and culture where ‘impossible’ is not a concept when helping customers, and a satisfactory solution for the customer’s needs is always provided. He is also impressed with the technical experience and knowledge of the eApps team and how everyone works at taking care of customers, even the small ones.
